Play with the Stars at The Hollywood Wax Museum

We are always looking for fun things to do as a family on the weekends. Living in Myrtle Beach there is definitely many options. Since its the off-season its the perfect time to explore different attractions around The Grand Strand. The kids have been asking to visit the Hollywood Wax Museum since we moved here almost 3 years ago. We drive by it almost on a daily basis, and our curiosity finally got the best of us. So this weekend we didn’t have any plans (yay) and we decided to finally go see what it was all about.

The museum is located across from Broadway at the Beach on 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. You will find King Kong on the side of the building, making it almost impossible to miss. The Great Ape of Myrtle Beach stands 36 feet tall and weighs 40,000 pounds!!

This museum is the next best thing to a celebrity meet and greet! You’ll find a mix of current A-list stars, Academy Award winners, classic entertainers, and music superstars. From Robert Downey, Jr. to Robert DeNiro to Julia Roberts, there are wax figures for everyone to enjoy. The Hollywood Wax Museum is the longest-running wax museum in the United States.

The wax museum is basically one huge photo-op, featuring hundreds of your favorite celebrities. So in a nutshell — it’s awesome. The Hollywood Wax Museum was a lot bigger than I expected, multiple floors and hallways to explore.

You are not supposed to touch the wax figures but they do have a ton of props to choose from. We totally took advantage of this, it was so much fun!

The museum actually encourages visitors to walk into the sets to take pictures. As soon as we walked in the girls went straight over to Will Smith to pose with him. The kids (and us) had so much fun taking photos with everyone.

In addition to dozens of realistic wax figures, there are interactive games spread throughout the museum. We all had a blast and enjoyed using the provided props for our photo ops! Even my husband got in on the fun. He really loved Hugh Hefner and The Earnhardt’s

Want even more fun? You can purchase the All Access Pass that includes Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors and Outbreak attractions also. Adults are $29.99 and Kids are $19.99. You can buy tickets online HERE. And this coupon will save you some money also!

Outbreak will definitely get your blood pumping while you race to save the world! The zombie walk-through Outbreak – Dread the Undead, is one of the largest and most technologically advanced year round haunted attractions in the country. We all went in but I have to admit it was extremely intense and scary. I would definitely not recommend it to younger children.

Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors is fun for all ages. You’ll have to make your way through 288 potential turns among hundreds of mirrored walls and archways and several sections where you see infinite reflections in every direction. This is especially great for the little ones who want adventure without the scares! Are you ready to get lost in a fairytale?

Your whole family is sure to enjoy all that The Hollywood Wax Museum has to offer. What are you waiting for? Go meet a celebrity, save the world from zombies and rescue a princess! Even take a selfie with Justin Timberlake! #SuperbowlSelfies

Before you leave, visitors can take advantage of the Studio Store, where you can shop the largest collection of celebrity souvenirs and memorabilia around!
