Planning a romantic getaway is hard, even harder after 16 years of marriage and 2 kids. Usually Valentine’s Day is just another normal day around here but this year I wanted to take some time for us. The world is in love with Charleston and so are we. I couldn’t think of a more romantic city for us to spend a night to celebrate us than in Charleston. After all, anywhere a Nicholas Sparks movie has been filmed has to scream romance, right?
Hotel Indigo Mount Pleasant
The four of us stayed at the newly remodeled Hotel Indigo in Mount Pleasant last Summer and fell in love. I knew this would be the perfect location for my husband and I to spend our mini Valentine’s getaway. Hotel Indigo is at a perfect location. It’s at the center of Mount Pleasant which is only minutes away from the heartbeat of Charleston.
Our King suite was simply perfect! It had a breakfast nook with bar stools, a sink and a refrigerator. It also had a separate sitting area, the room was spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable and how could you go wrong with a pink headboard?!
Eliza’s Bar + Kitchen
We started our evening by enjoying a drink at Eliza’s Bar + Kitchen and ended our stay with an amazing breakfast there as well. It was fabulous! We loved the proximity of eating a great meal right in the hotel, and I highly recommend “The Hangover Cure.” The hotel works with local farmers where they can get local foods. The farmers make it possible to offer upscale local foods which does not disappoint!
Charleston, South Carolina, is a historic city full of charm and beauty.
