Spring Break | Jekyll Island, GA {Part 1}

Disclosure: We partnered with Holiday Inn Resort, Jekyll Island on this sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are of my own.

Two weeks ago we spent a few days of our Spring Break on Jekyll Island, Georgia and we had such an amazing trip that I definitely need to share it with you. Although, I have to admit that I kind of want to keep this gorgeous island to myself, but that would be selfish of me. Jekyll Island is a beautiful hidden gem and we did not know anything about it before our visit. I was truly blown away by the natural beauty, history, and amount of activities.

Holiday Inn Resort, Jekyll Island

We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and checked into our hotel, the Holiday Inn Resort, Jekyll Island. The hotel is a 157-room beachfront hotel and includes 21 suites, which are perfect for families. There are only a handful of hotels on the island, and this is one of only 2 ocean front hotels that I saw. We had a suite with 2 queen beds, a living room with a sofa bed, and a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator.  All of the suites are on the second (top) floor and have balconies that face the beach.

This was the view from our balcony, not a bad way to spend Spring Break, right?

The hotel was perfect for our family. Traveling with two tween girls you never know what to expect but this setup was just right for us. We loved that the suite had a big sleeping area with two queen beds and then a separate living area with a pull out couch. It had plenty of room for us to spread out and not be in each others space 24/7, you know girls NEED their space.

The sunrise and sunset took our breath away I think my favorite part of the trip was sitting on our balcony enjoying my morning coffee watching the sunrise over the ocean. Breathtaking.

What To Do

When you step onto the grounds of the Holiday Inn Resort, you will immediately feel like you are on vacation. Surrounded by lush landscape, palm trees, gorgeous oceanfront views, paved bike lanes, a pool overlooking the ocean, playground, and outdoor lounging chairs. Which by the way was my favorite place to relax! The shade, ocean breeze and the sound of the waves in the background.

Although the resort was extremely relaxing, there was also an abundance of activities for the kids. You know tweens and their favorite saying “I’m bored”. Surprisingly, I didn’t hear that out of their mouths one time on our trip. The kids enjoyed the huge pool, rented bikes for a day and rode around the island (which was extremely safe, with bike lanes throughout,) and played ping-pong when they were tired of swimming!

Where To Eat

If you do not want to cook on your trip, there are definitely delicious and convenient options for dining. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at Beach House. This restaurant offers a full bar with flat screen televisions, outdoor dining with a seating area and outdoor fireplace. There is a kid-inspired menu and kids 12 and under who are hotel guests eat free! The restaurant offers daily happy hour, live entertainment, and an indoor 12-foot shuffle board table and outdoor bocce ball lawn. The Beach House serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The menu selections include Artisan pizza and flatbread, sandwiches and locally-sourced seafood.

The Holiday Inn Resort, Jekyll Island is an amazing place for a getaway. You will definitely enjoy a break from the distractions of busy life. The resort is the perfect place to escape and is filled with history, nature, and relaxation.

Stay tuned for part 2 for more on this beautiful hidden gem!
