Why the 2019 Mazda CX-5 is the Perfect Road Trip Vehicle

May 6, 2019

When I was planning our Spring Break road trip to Jekyll Island a few weeks ago I knew we needed a vehicle that was big enough for all our luggage and still plenty of room in the backseat. If you have tweens you know that they either love or hate each other and road trips tend to cause them to dislike each other, so plenty of room for them in the backseat was definitely a priority.  I was so excited to find out we were going to be able to drive the 2019 Mazda CX-5 on our trip!

Spring Break-in’ with Mazda CX-5

For a Spring Break road trip with two adults and two kids, we found the CX-5 to be a great family vehicle. The back has plenty of space for our luggage (and the cooler of beer and tons of snacks we had to pack) and anything we bought along the way.

Mazda CX5

As you can see the back seat had plenty of room for the two girls. They had a space for their drinks, USB ports and they even had their own climate controls! They loved it!

Size

If y’all remember, we got to test out the 2019 Mazda CX-9 Signature back in December, and we absolutely fell in love with it. So when I found out we were driving the CX-5 I knew it had to be just as amazing! And it did not disappoint. While the CX-9 is bigger and has 3 rows of seats, the CX-5 is still extremely roomy but with seats for 5, which doesn’t bother me because we are only a family of 4.

Features

We live in the Myrtle Beach where traffic builds up pretty quickly, especially in the tourist season. I could comfortably drive around town in the smooth ride that the Mazda CX-5 provided. They’ve made so much technology to help make the ride smooth and safe. The technology senses you’re steering and adjusts the grip on the round. I also loved the blind spot detection feature that helps you safely change lanes in traffic.

Another favorite feature of mine, especially for a road trip is the display along the right side of the screen. It will show amenities like gas, food, and auto repair that are available at upcoming exits.

Mazda is clearly prioritizing safety and it’s got the luxury features that moms want! I love the joystick technology that they provide. It allows you to switch from navigation to music or a hands-free phone call easily. It made me feel safer, while easily letting me change option on the touch screen.

Take Mazda On The Road

It was so nice to have something sleek, powerful, and good-looking for our road trip to Jekyll Island. If you’re in the market for a compact or crossover SUV, definitely test-drive the Mazda CX-5. For frequent travelers – like us – the CX-5 makes an awesome family road trip car. Where to next?

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m so happy you are here!

I started Boots Bows and Beaches a few years ago to share our craziness that is being married, working full time and of course being a mom of two teen girls.

Who knew I would learn so much and make such great friends while listening to country music and dealing with teenage hormones.
