Making Memories At Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort in Hagerstown, MD

It has been a summer of travel and memories for our little family, somehow we managed to squeeze in a trip back to our hometown. For years Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort in Hagerstown, MD was basically in our backyard. We really didn’t have a reason to visit or the time for that matter. This summer was the perfect opportunity to take advantage of this campground and be able to visit with friends and family at the same time!

Jellystone Park™

We decided to try out Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort in Hagerstown, MD, which is our hometown. Located in northern Maryland, just a mile from I-81, and less than an hour and a half from both Washington DC and Baltimore. This is the perfect location, it is just down the road from historic landmarks such as the Antietam National Battlefield and the Appalachian Trail.

Campsites

Whether your idea of camping means all the amenities of home in a forty-foot motorhome or getting back to nature in a cozy tent, they have campsites to accommodate everyone’s needs.

Of course, a cabin is more our style and we loved being able to camp without really camping if you know what I mean. We stayed in a luxury cabin that included all the comforts of home! It featured a full-sized bed, two twin bunk beds, a spacious main room with a kitchen and dinette area, bathroom, and a huge front porch!

Whatever you’re looking for, they have cabins to fit anyone’s needs. Amenities including AC/heating, cable TV, outdoor space, and more! Some cabins can even take groups of up to 16 people! I was extremely impressed with our cabin and the ability to still enjoy the campground without an RV or staying in a tent.

YOGI BEAR’S WATER ZONE

Let’s start with Yogi’s Water Zone. This is where we spent most of the time as it’s one of the main attractions at Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort in Hagerstown. There are 2 larger waterslides for riders 42″ and up. They’re pretty fun and the kids definitely enjoyed them. The waterpark also includes an interactive splash pad with a pirate ship, water cannons, and 2 small slides. My niece, who is almost 2 loved the smaller slides and splash pad. There is also another pool at the front of the campground if you are wanting a more laid back experience. Yogi's Waterzone

Things to do at Jellystone, MD

I think it safe to say that the amenities and activities are the main draws for this campground. The full slate of options for entertaining the kids is pretty amazing. Along with the waterpark, there are endless activities for the kids to enjoy. We loved all the different options for all different age groups. I never really had to worry about different age ranges but since my niece spent time with us while we were there I had to really make sure the activities were age appropriate and much to my surprise there wasn’t a problem with finding activities that my oldest who is 12 and niece who is almost 2 could participate in!

Activities at JellystoneJellystone Park™

We loved that they had golf cart rentals it made it so much easier to get around! They also had a fun (and free) mini golf course, a huge bouncy pillow, 2 playgrounds, a laser tag game played in the woods, horse shoes, an arcade, snack shop, outdoor movie theater, and so much more! I could go on forever about the amount of stuff there was to do. The only problem was that we weren’t there long enough to experience all there was to do!

Activities

From morning to night, Jellystone offers a wide range of activities. There are theme weeks throughout the summer months along with numerous other activities. Meet and greets with the bears, pizza parties, crafts, scavenger hunts, and evening wagon rides just to name a few. There were so many activities to do on the property that we did not even leave once we checked into our cabin!
