Magical 9th Unicorn Pool Party

April 15, 2018

Who doesn’t love unicorns right now? They are definitely all the rage in our household that is for sure! Since it is finally starting to warm up here in South Carolina, the only thing more fun than a unicorn birthday party is a unicorn POOL birthday party!

Unicorn Party

When Brynna told me she wanted her theme for her ninth birthday party to be a big magical party filled with all the unicorn goodness we could possibly find, I was thrilled! YES PLEASE! Let’s face it, I probably love unicorns as much as her so this has to be my favorite birthday party theme yet! One of the things that I love most about being a parent is throwing birthday parties that my kids will remember forever. Maybe I am known to go a little overboard on their birthday parties, and this one wasn’t any different. Heck it might be worse.

Pool Fun

Of course, no unicorn pool party is complete without actual pool time! Justice has the most magical pool floats we have ever seen! I didn’t plan any real activities so the pool floats were an awesome way for the kids to play and interact with each other, and not whine about being bored.

Brynna is obsessed with goggles. Legit we probably go through at least 5 pair every summer. Last year we discovered Splash Swim Goggles and never looked back. These goggles are by far our favorite, both girls’ love them and they don’t pull their hair which is a huge plus for us! And how perfect that we found one of their new designs just in time for her party! Unicorn themed of course! Fun pink, teal and purple print and lightly tinted purple lenses.

The Cake

Moving on the cake…I would argue that is the most important part of any party. This unicorn cake from Butter + Whisk is totally amazing. I was absolutely blown away by it, and so were all of the guests at the party. Plus it was absolutely delicious!

The cupcakes she made were equally as delicious and adorable. I was blown away by how gorgeous they were and they tasted as good as they looked!

Favors

Ok so rounding it out we can’t forget about party favors. I think these unicorn headbands from Justice are a perfect little favor for your guests. Brynna’s friends loved getting to dress the part for her party just like the birthday princess herself!

Unicorn Party

These magical unicorn mini piñata party favors from Krystal’s Piñatas were such a fun way to send home treats with the guests. How cute are these? I swear people are so darn creative….AND I LOVE IT!

unicorn party

Needless to say, our unicorn birthday party was a huge success! Watching all the kids running around and swimming with unicorn horns on and eating unicorn cake and cupcakes was perfect. We are so thankful for all our friends who came and made Brynna feel loved and special at her party! I really do love and appreciate all the little friends that she has found through her school and community. It sure did make my mama heart happy seeing them have fun together. And of course all our family that came out too.

I had so much fun planning this party, but there is truly nothing better than the look of pure joy and excitement on your child’s face because she got exactly the most magical party that she asked for and deserves.

Be Happy, Do Good | RAOK with Justice

February 28, 2018

Kindness is an inner desire that makes us want to do good things even if we do not get anything in return.

As Justice Girls with Heart Ambassadors my daughters are very active in spreading positivity. They are very excited about Justice’s Spring campaign, “Be Happy, Do Good”. The girls’ spent their Saturday morning doing good throughout the community.

Acts of kindness are a wonderful opportunity for kids to learn how to show love to those in our family, our community and our world… and they’re really fun! I am always trying to teach the girls’ the importance of being kind and spreading happiness. There are so many random things you can do to brighten and lift peoples’ days that don’t cost a thing or costs very little. I’ve noticed when I focus on helping other people, I’m often happier myself and I want my kids to be able to feel the same way.

I guess technically if it’s all written down and thought-out in advance, these acts aren’t entirely so random. Yet, planned or not any attempt to brighten someones day is one awesome thing to do. So first, the girls started with writing a list of random acts of kindness they wanted to perform throughout the community.

Random Acts of Kindness

My amazing friend over at A Little Leafy designed these cards for us to give out. Aren’t they just the cutest? We printed them out and we were ready to hit the town!

Here are the Random Acts of Kindness we carried out.

1. We taped packages of microwaveable popcorn on Redbox machines so people could enjoy popcorn with their movie rentals. We already had a few packages of popcorn lying around our pantry.

Random Acts of Kindness

2. We filled a few Ziplock bags with $1.00 bills and hid them all around the toy section of the Dollar Tree.

3.We left a king-sized package of M&Ms in our mailbox to say thank you to our mailman. Goodness knows he deserves it as much as he delivers to us!

4.I had a $5.00 Target Giftcard I received from a previous purchase. Instead of using it, we took it to the Dollar Spot in Target for someone to use.

5. After that we went and bought a pack of baby wipes and took them in the bathroom. We put them on the diaper changing station. You never know when a busy mom may forget the baby wipes! Been there believe me!

6. We left quarters on gumball and candy machines at the Dollar Tree. I know this will make for some happy kids, and probably not so happy moms.

7. We have a Baby and Kids consignment shop in town and I have “money” specifically to use there. So I put $5.00 in a baggie and we put it in the baby section of Target. Hopefully it will be of use to someone.

I loved everything about this experience. Not only did it provide time with my daughters that didn’t involve cell phones, but it taught us all so much. We learned that giving feels good—and that we should do it more often. Remember no act of kindness is too small.I hope this has inspired you to get out in your community, Be Happy and Do Good! So go grab your friend (or sister) and brighten up someone’s day. Have fun!

Club Justice: Spread the Love Event

February 4, 2018

This weekend is the Club Justice Spread the Love event in Justice stores. As Girls with Heart Ambassadors we headed to our local Justice store at the Coastal Grand Mall to spread love with smiles & fun. Club Justice members get 25% off every purchase this weekend. One more reason to love Club Justice: special events like the one we went to today! Let us tell you all about it!

“Club Justice is a free loyalty program where members can earn points as they shop Justice towards rewards savings on future purchases. Members also enjoy exclusive offers, invites and first dibs on all things Justice! Just by enrolling, members get free standard shipping on orders shipping to the contiguous U.S. of $50 or more (after all promotions and discounts excluding taxes), a $5 welcome offer and can start earning points towards $10 rewards.”

When the girls arrived they went directly to the Selfie Station where they encouraged girls that were shopping to write a note to spread the love. It was a nice way to break the ice and get other girls involved with the event.

Brynna and the store manager had to try on unicorn headbands, I mean how cute are they?! We love our store manager, she is so awesome and fun!

The event will be today, February 3rd and tomorrow February 4th! Spread the love with an exclusive shopping offer and good vibes all around! It’s a party not to be missed!
If you can’t make it into a store you can sign up for HERE to become a member today!

We love Club Justice, and so will you! Be a part of the fun. Happy Shopping!

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m so happy you are here!

I started Boots Bows and Beaches a few years ago to share our craziness that is being married, working full time and of course being a mom of two teen girls.

Who knew I would learn so much and make such great friends while listening to country music and dealing with teenage hormones.
