Post CCMF Depression | PCCMFD

June 12, 2019

CCMF 2019

We’ve made it through days of sensory overload, good times, good music and good vibes. The last thing on our mind is how much sleep or food we are getting until you need it. The Eat, Sleep, Repeat mantra is all too real. CCMF 2019 welcomes you to PCCMFD.

Post Festival Depression

Post Festival Depression is real y’all. It’s a feeling you get when you are walking out of an amazing 4-day festival and think “holy sh*t I will never experience happiness like that again.” Well until next year when it’s time for CCMF to come around again.

US of A Day Wearing our City Roots in Boots shirts and hats

I’m 3 days post festival and I’m still not 100% “normal” I mean was I ever?! Haha. No, but it’s true I may have overindulged a bit and I’m just getting my body back to myself. It was CCMF’s property for 4 days and I’m not even mad about it.

Not My First Rodeo

This isn’t my first rodeo. This was actually the 4th year attending the festival that just celebrated its 5th anniversary. I would have been there for the first year if we weren’t preparing to move to Myrtle at the same time. It was about to be our “First week in Myrtle Beach..”

Believe me, I wanted to be there, my husband was already living here and he attended so we are definitely veterans of this music fest. But believe me when I say, nothing I’d experienced to that point in my life had prepared me for what I was about to experience, veteran or not, an endorphin-aided endurance test of partying my ass off for basically 96 hours straight (with very little sleep in between) and an endless supply of alcohol. Thanks, Ultimate CCMF Experience Wristbands.

CCMF

You’re high’s a little high

The highs achieved at CCMF are absolutely no match against the lows I have felt afterward. One moment we are in a fairytale world being taken backstage, escorted to stage box seats with people who have more money to spend on a seat than I will ever make in a lifetime, where everybody accepts you for who you are, and welcomes you with open arms regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation. Then suddenly the festival is over and the next day you’re forced back into your routine of daily life and don’t see these people who you have made friends with until next year (maybe.) Talk about low.

CCMF

Festivals create this temporary community that is physically, socially, and experientially separate from our daily lives. When we enter them they allow us to do things and meet people we wouldn’t otherwise encounter, like for example, the ability to take as many shots as physically possible in an hour while we watch Dan + Shay with our fellow #lyricsdowncold winners.

May We All

I have talked about this before. But, I think something that we can all agree on is there is nothing quite like hearing our favorite songs live and seeing your favorite artist. Concerts give us an escape from our reality. We dance with our best friends and with people we have never met before, who eventually become our friends…sometimes they even become our best friends. There is just something so amazing about thousands of people singing the same song on a dark summer night that makes you all connect.

And of course there will always be a part of me who will still smile at the sound of Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise” no matter how many times I have heard it, and hearing it live with “my people” makes it  so much better.

Living

As Dierk’s would say “Some days you’re living” and eventually all the bad post-festival symptoms will fade, and you will be able to look at your videos and photos from the weekend as amazing memories. Those memories will sustain you, until the next time, you more than willingly put yourself through this torture again.

Especially when you look back and remember you were this close to Thomas Rhett on Day 4.

Enjoy some of my memories of another amazing weekend thanks to CCMF, along with all the amazing people we met and businesses we worked with over the course of the weekend.

Carolina Country Music Festival Must Haves

May 22, 2019

Carolina Country Music Festival

I’m so excited for CCMF y’all! We are about 2 weeks away from the 5th Anniversary of the Carolina Country Music Festival! Country music is about to take over Myrtle Beach which means for four days country music fans from all over the United States head to the Atlantic Coast for live music, zip lining, good food, and strong drinks!

It’s time to start planning the perfect festival outfits! Although if you are like me I’m sure you have been planning for months. I’ve rounded up my favorite outfits and must have festival accessories that would be perfect for CCMF or any country music festival. For any true country girl, concert season is like a second Christmas, right ladies?!

What To Wear

Tees & Tanks

You can style almost any tank or tee for a country music concert. One of my current favorite places to shop for country festival attire is City Roots In Boots. Finding a go-to shop for all of your country concert and festival needs can be a struggle. City Roots in Boots has it all, from tanks to sweatshirts and koozies to fanny packs, this country-inspired boutique has it all!

They even have a kids line which is perfect for my country music-lovin’ daughter!

Check out some of our favorite tops, and use code BOOTS10 for a discount at checkout.  Shop Now

Shorts

Destroyed Denim shorts are an absolute must for any summer country concert. American Eagle is always my go-to for shorts and jeans. As a girl with hips and a booty, AE is definitely the brand that fits me the best definitely.

Rompers & Kimonos

I’m a sucker for rompers but even though they are super adorable, don’t forget the bathroom situation. Not good. This year I decided I am going to stay away from them. I did find the cutest boho/western kimono to layer over my tanks from Amazon this year!

Cowboy Boots

It’s going to be hot. However, don’t let that summer sun stop you from sporting your favorite cowboy boots! There are so many ways to wear boots in the summer and you can find a pair of boots that can fit within any budget.

Some of our favorite western boot brands include Corral and Ariat. You can find these popular brands at Wild West Boot Store in Conway and Surfside, you can shop online and they will also have a booth in the festival to shop as well!

Accessories

Bags

Last year CCMF revised its bag policy to provide everyone with a safer festival experience. Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” are allowed in the festival. Official CCMF Logo clear plastic bags will be available through festival merchandise outlets or check out Policy Handbags for something a little more stylish. POLICY is dedicated to continuously evolving with the ever-changing world around it.

Koozies

Keeping the beer cold is key when it’s so hot out, or just drink faster. Check out our favorite koozies from City Roots in Boots.

U.S. of A. Day

In case you didn’t know, Friday, June 7 is CCMF’s patriotic theme night – bring all the RED, WHITE and BLUE! Whether you are wearing an American shirt, a red, white and blue bandana, or carrying a patriotic blanket, this is a must for U.S. of A. Day! Check out our looks from last year. Can’t wait to show y’all what we have planned for this year!

Let the countdown begin to the 5th Anniversary of Carolina Country Music Fest! I’m so excited for this year, its time to get ready for a whole new year of incredible music and memories that will last a lifetime! See y’all at the beach!!

Country Music fans are the nicest people you will ever meet…until they aren’t

September 3, 2018

I have been to my fair share of concerts. All country concerts. Of course there will always be a few drunken idiots that don’t know how to hold their liquor but for the most part everyone is always so nice and friendly.

This past weekend that was not the case. And I’m actually still baffled by the whole situation. I’ve sat in lines for hours with random people, people whom I’ve never met before but by the time the doors opened I would call them my friends.

I’ve saved spots, sat out in 100 degree SC weather in June so others could come later and vice versa. I even gave my Cole Swindell meet and greet to a guy I had just met because in the 2 hours we were in line I saw how big of a fan he was and it just felt like the right thing to do.

I’ve had people take my daughter to her meet and greet with them while I saved our spots, I’ve had people save us spots at the front of the stage so we didn’t have to bring a 9 year old out in the heat all day. I had the cutest little boy and his mom bring Brynna a matching shirt for the Chase Rice concert BEFORE we even met them! We’ve bought beers and water for people we didn’t know. We have welcomed people to move up front so they could see the opening act because that’s all they were there for. We’ve been offered food, drinks, snacks, blankets to sit on, but above all of that just a fun memorable time.

Sitting in line is the worst part of any concert experience in my opinion, it’s hot, your sitting on the ground, if you have kids you have to occupy them, it’s just draining. But we all do it because we want to be up front and that’s the price we pay if we want to see our favorite artists up close and personal.

Helloooo Luke

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never met the person you’re next to right now. For some reason, you will feel like you know them and that’s the magic of country music,it brings us all together. Well it’s supposed to anyway.

To the people I encountered this weekend at Hershey Park in line waiting for Dylan Scott, if you happen to read this I have a few things to say to you.

The dirty looks and stares we got as we walked up to get in line were so noticeable. Did you think you were going to be the only people in line waiting? Blocking each possible line entrance was beyond immature and then when I asked which line I was supposed to be in because apparently there was 4 I didn’t get an answer. If someone asked you a question about the show your response was “read the sign.” Waiting in line for hours before a show isn’t nearly as boring when you’re surrounded by good people. Then to top it off y’all felt the need to tally up the total cost of our Meet & Greet prices as we were exiting the building. Loud enough mind you that we heard “$40, $80, $120…” Why that is any of your business is beyond me but don’t worry we didn’t break the bank buying the M&G’s just in case you were wondering. Yesterday was the worst pre concert experience I’ve ever dealt with. Like I said yesterday and I will say again…we were all there for the same reason, to support Dylan Scott and I’m sure if he knew the way his “fans” were treating other fans he wouldn’t approve. But that’s just my opinion.

This weekend and that concert in particular was much more to me than a just a concert. When my grandfather passed away at the end of May, Beer Buddies was on repeat. CCMF was two weeks later and Dylan Scott was there. Listening to him sing that live was so emotional but it was just what I needed. My best friend and I started planning this weekend way back in June when we saw he was going to be in Hershey. Two weeks ago my 10 month old Great Dane died suddenly of a heart attack. He was our baby and such a big presence in our life that it absolutely devastated us.

Getting away this weekend and spending time with my “Beer Buddy” was everything I needed. The way I was treated for the entire time I was in line and after was so rude, hurtful and just simply unnecessary.

Thank goodness the concert was everything we had hoped for and meeting Dylan Scott was the icing on the cake. He is such a down to earth guy and definitely made it all worth it!

Country music and concerts have always been my stress relief, my happiness, and simply a way to find words when my soul can’t speak them. Just remember you don’t know everyone’s story or what they are going through. So, the next time you are standing in line for a concert and you see someone beside you, say hi and welcome them. They are there for the same reason you are. Weather it’s their 2nd time seeing the artist or their 18th.

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m so happy you are here!

I started Boots Bows and Beaches a few years ago to share our craziness that is being married, working full time and of course being a mom of two teen girls.

Who knew I would learn so much and make such great friends while listening to country music and dealing with teenage hormones.
