Anniversary Getaway: Part 2

July 28, 2020

Nashville has been on our bucket list for a LONG time. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our 15th anniversary than to finally make a visit to Nashville. The Drury Plaza Nashville made our visit so much better!

Before anyone says anything we planned this trip prior to any worldwide pandemic. We definitely have times where we can be jerks I’m not going to deny that, but we are not the kind who put other people in danger. I see conspiracies and the media feeding fear to us and causing stress.

Although we didn’t get to experience Nashville like it usual is we truly did make the best of it and had so much fun exploring Music City!

Drury Plaza Nashville

The Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Downtown is located right in the heart of “Music City.” We had such a relaxing and fun-filled stay.

Drury Nashville

This was our second time staying at the Drury chain of hotels. We stayed in the king room suite which was perfect for us and the view was absolutely amazing! All measures were in place due to Covid-19 for our safety which was extremely comforting.

Drury Nashville

The hotel was just a short walk to Broadway which is so convenient since we flew and didn’t have a car! We did have to Uber to a few spots but usually we walked!

Amenities

A huge indoor/outdoor rooftop swimming pool and a very large hot tub was so nice to relax in after a long day of walking!

Drury Nashville

Now, let’s talk about the biggest perks that my husband and I loved. The Drury hotels are known for their 5:30 kickback which includes 2 alcoholic drinks and dinner! While it was a bit different because of the extra precautions in place, the food was still delicious!

We enjoyed the free breakfast everyday as well, the Drury figured out how to still serve a good hot breakfast and we really appreciated that! This was our breakfast view every morning, pretty dreamy right?

Drury Nashville

Even though we arrived when the City resorted back to Stage 2 Covid-19 measures, we still had a great time. We definitely look forward to coming back to town again! Thanks to Drury for making our trip great!

While I was a bit anxious going into our mini getaway I’m glad we did it. It gave us the change to break the monotony and visit a town we’ve dreamt of visiting forever! Stay tuned for my next blog about some things you must do while in Nashville!

Whether your home or on a getaway just remember to practice social distancing and wash your hands! Have you been on any trips  since March?

Anniversary Getaway : Part 1

July 24, 2020

Planning an anniversary getaway during a pandemic is hard. But with all this craziness in the world it was so nice to get away and feel  as “normal” as we could.

ANNIVERSARY GETAWAY

Usually our anniversary is just another normal day around here but this year we were celebrating 15 years and we wanted to take some time for us. Yes even in the middle of a pandemic.

HOTEL INDIGO MOUNT PLEASANT

The four of us have stayed at the newly remodeled Hotel Indigo in Mount Pleasant a few Summers ago and then my husband and I stayed there last Valentine’s Day and we are totally in love with this hotel.

We were flying out of Charleston Airport to leave for Nashville Sunday morning so I knew this would be the perfect location for my husband and I to spend the first night of our getaway. Hotel Indigo is at a perfect location. It’s at the center of Mount Pleasant which is only minutes away from the heartbeat of Charleston.

OUR ROOM

Our King suite was perfect! It had a gorgeous view of the pool, a refrigerator, and coffee maker. It also had a separate sitting area, the room was spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable and how could you go wrong with a pink headboard?! We were even welcomed with snacks and beer to get us started for our anniversary! So thoughtful!

POOL & AMENITIES

We knew Nashville would be nonstop so we just wanted to relax during our stay this visit. The Hotel Indigo has the most gorgeous resort-style oasis pool, with an indoor/outdoor bar, cabanas, sun chairs and even in-pool loungers. (That is where we spent most of our time because it was HOT!)  We pretty much spent our entire day just hanging out by the pool and we were perfectly content.

ELIZA’S BAR + KITCHEN

After our day spent by the pool we went up and changed and started our evening with a drink at Eliza’s Bar + Kitchen. Because of the pandemic things were a little different but the food was still fabulous! We loved the proximity of eating a great meal right in the hotel. The hotel works with local farmers where they can get local foods. The farmers make it possible to offer upscale local foods which does not disappoint!

Anniversary Getaway

It was definitely a short but very sweet trip! We had the best time and it was the perfect start to our anniversary getaway!  Our stay at the Hotel Indigo in Mount Pleasant was wonderful and I’d definitely recommend visiting whether it’s for a couples getaway, girl’s trip or family vacation. The world is in love with Charleston and so are we.

The Restoration Hotel | Anniversary Getaway

July 18, 2019

Last week my husband and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary at The Restoration Hotel.  Typically our anniversary is spent like just another typical day with tweens at home, maybe we might be adventurous and enjoy dinner out at a restaurant alone. This year we decided to sneak away for the night to one of our favorite places, Charleston.

Anniversary

The Restoration Hotel

This recently refurbished, 54-suite hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Charleston on King Street. This chic, luxurious and romantic boutique hotel was the perfect place to spend our anniversary. My husband and I were both extremely impressed by every detail of the property.

The Restoration

The Property

This property is truly gorgeous and unique. Rather than a single hotel building, The Restoration is a collection of five classic buildings that have been modernized to provide world-class amenities. From the Amethyst Spa, The Watch rooftop restaurant, The Rise coffee shop, Indigo Pool and Port Mercantile retail store, there is simply nothing that compares to the luxury of this hotel.

Immediately upon arriving, we went straight to The Watch, the rooftop bar and restaurant for drinks. The Watch offers stunning views of the city along with delicious food and drinks.

Our Room

After a few drinks, it was time to check into our room. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite that featured a king-sized bedroom and a large dreamy bathroom, as well as a fully equipped kitchen and living space. The refrigerator was stocked with water, soda and a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate our anniversary!

The RestorationThe RestorationThe RestorationThe RestorationThe Restoration

The decor is elegant and modern with just the right amount of southern charm. I told my husband when the kids are older I could see myself living in a place just like it.

The Restoration

We ended the evening with a night swim in the Indigo Pool overlooking the city while watching the dreamiest sunset. Talk about romantic.

Amenities

Since we only stayed one night we didn’t even begin to indulge in all the amenities this hotel has to offer. In addition to amazing accommodations, the hotel offers bike rentals, community areas, evening wine, and cheese reception, and so many different daily events.

If you want to be in the center of the action and enjoy the luxuries of a boutique hotel, The Restoration Hotel is the place for you. From the staff to the amenities and location our stay was nothing short of breathtaking and made our 14th anniversary a memorable one!

A special thank you to The Restoration Hotel for hosting us for our anniversary. As always, all opinions are my own.

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m so happy you are here!

I started Boots Bows and Beaches a few years ago to share our craziness that is being married, working full time and of course being a mom of two teen girls.

Who knew I would learn so much and make such great friends while listening to country music and dealing with teenage hormones.
