Things to do in Nashville from a Beginner

September 30, 2020

Nashville…my new favorite city! For country-music fans, singers, and songwriters from all over the world, Nashville is the ultimate destination. Although this was only my second trip to Nashville I want to share with you some of my favorite things we did while we were in town.

Where To Stay

In my last post I told y’all all about our amazing Airbnb we stayed in. I highly recommend it, just go take a peek here.

Nashville's High Roller

If you are looking for a hotel we loved staying at The Drury Plaza Hotel in downtown Nashville. This is definitely more for a trip with your husband or a few girlfriends.

Visit the Museums

Grand Ole Opry

My husband and I actually visited The Grand Ole Opry when we were in Nashville in July. It felt so amazing to visit and to have a backstage tour. I definitely thought the Opry was only a concert venue, but it’s so much more! It is also the longest-running radio broadcast known to have made “country music famous” and they still record shows here on a weekly basis! I really enjoyed taking the tour and seeing the dressing rooms, artist’s entrance, and stepping foot on the iconic stage! I may or may not have shed a few tears. There is definitely so much history in that building and I would go back again just to experience it.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

Nashville is home to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and this place is a must-see! There is so much history tucked away in this building and I loved seeing all of the performers’ outfits, artifacts, and learning more about every person that has been honored at the Country Music Hall of Fame! Right now tickets are limited due to COVID restrictions so I recommend calling ahead and purchasing your tickets.

What To Do

Extreme Party Nashville

This party bus exceeded our expectations more than we could have imagined!! Our ride with Extreme Party Nashville was definitely a highlight of our trip!  We had the pleasure of riding with Tiffany (our bartender) and Austin who are completely amazing and so much fun!!

Nashville

They entertained us, played music requests, and danced right along with us! We loved that they offer a BYOB experience for 21 and up! They showed us to multiple different amazing sights like The Capital, the angel wings mural, and showed us the amazing skyline. They offered us a lot of information as well. I would absolutely recommend everyone giving this party bus a go! We can’t wait to come back to Nashville and book again!

Nashville Nashville

The Nashville Tractor

The Nashville Tractor is bringing the farm party to Broadway! We had our first ride with them in July and couldn’t wait to show our friends how much fun we had, so of course, we had to book a ride when we came back!

The tractor shows you around Nashville for approximately 1.5 hours for some dancing and partying. Music, a light-up dance floor, cold drinks, and more! The on-board entertainer keeps the drinks flowing, plays games, teaches line dances, and might even sing you a few songs! They have a bar on board to serve beer as you ride around downtown Nashville!

This is a fun way to see the city and have fun. If you love to dance and drink, do it on a The Nashville Tractor! I would definitely recommend anyone going to Nashville to check them out!

Experience the nightlife and honky-tonks in Downtown Nashville

You definitely have to check out the infamous Broadway honky tonk region. Even if you don’t like country music, you will enjoy your time here. It’s an overall fun atmosphere and theres so many different bars to choose from. There were still some places closed due to COVID but a lot more was open this time around than in July so I was excited. We spent most of our time at Kid Rock’s, the food was good and the band was rocking.

Nashville NashvilleNashville

The best thing about Music City is that you can literally walk down the street and pick which live music sounds good to you and go in. The music scene in Nashville is as diverse as the songwriters and musicians who make up the community.

Check out some bars off-Broadway

We discovered Winner and Loser’s which are two smaller bars just off-Broadway. They both had great bands both nights we went, the food was awesome and the beer was cold (and cheaper than Kid Rock’s!) It was one of the smaller places we visited, which gave it a good vibe on a slower evening. Both bars are beside each other and well worth a stop for a drink and some music when exploring Nashville!

Nashville

I hope this Nashville guide helps you some when you are planning your next trip. Let me know if you have any other recommendations for this city, I’m already ready to go back!

Nashville’s High Roller Airbnb

September 25, 2020

We love our kids very much, but sometimes it’s nice to just get away and have some adult time. We traveled with our best friends for a couples trip to Nashville, or what we like to call “Family Vacation,” Nashville’s High Roller Airbnb is the perfect place to stay the next time you are heading to Nashville.

Nashville's High Roller

With so many great Airbnb’s in Nashville, it can be hard to choose the one that will be the cherry on top of a great trip. Nashville’s High Roller was exactly what we pictured and hoped for.

Nashville’s High Roller Airbnb

This 4 bed, 2 1/2 bath home that can sleep 12 is right between 12th South and The Gulch. Located in The Row in the Music Row/Edgehill neighborhood just a short 7 minute Uber ride away from Broadway and walking distance to some local bars where we actually spent a few evenings, more on those places later!

Nashville's High Roller

We had a super early flight Saturday morning so we arrived in Nashville late morning and grabbed an Uber to the house. The ride from the airport was about 15 minutes, not bad at all. We got to the house, claimed rooms, and sent the guys grocery shopping for the week!

The Space

First Floor

As soon as you walk in the house the main entrance and the first floor features the game room with sleeping for 4 total! There are plenty of games including board/card games, pool table, dartboard, and more!

Second Floor

As you walk straight up the stairs when you enter the home, you are welcomed into the beautiful open kitchen and dining area! This kitchen features high-end appliances and a traditional/Keurig coffee maker combo for everyone’s enjoyment. The kitchen and dining area is opened right into the vibrant living space.

Nashville's High RollerNashville's High Roller Nashville's High Roller

We spent most of our mornings sitting around this area, the guys cooked breakfast every morning, we watched movies and relaxed during the day before heading out for the evening. This space was definitely where we spent most of our time. The huge couch was definitely a great addition to this area for everyone to lounge around on during the day, and it also features a pull out sofa bed for extra sleeping accommodations as well.

Nashville's High Roller

Off of the kitchen, there is also a guest bedroom with a Queen trundle bed. (Sleeping for 3). This guest bedroom has an attached half bathroom, which is also accessible to the living/kitchen area!

Third Floor

When you continue up the stairs for the living room, you come to the 3rd floor. This floor has the 2nd guest bedroom and master, as well as the laundry space! This floor can sleep 2 in each bedroom, as both bedrooms have luxury queen beds! Each bedroom has a full bathroom attached as well. The laundry space was so nice and convenient.

Rooftop

Next is the beautiful rooftop space as you come up the stairs from the 3rd level. This space is large and features PLENTY of seating! This is the perfect place for hanging out and enjoying a drink with friends and family! There are plenty of games such as bowling, cornhole, can toss, dice, and more for your use! We loved the fire pit in the evenings and the grill was great to have as well. We used it to make most of our dinners before heading out.

One of my favorite parts of our trip is that we were staying in an actual house. It was so nice to be able to do things like cook meals, lazy mornings sitting around on the couch, and evenings on the rooftop.

The Hosts

The hosts Harley and Jocelyn were great and very communicative. They are extremely cautious with the Covid-19 situation. They have taken extra precautions to make sure the house is cleaned to meet all CDC standards.

If you’re looking to take a trip or vacation to Nashville, I would highly suggest staying in the Nashville High Roller Airbnb. Right now they are offering a special when you book 3 nights you get an extra night free.

Just make sure you message them directly to get the offer before booking! This is the perfect Airbnb for your next getaway, couples, family, and I could definitely see an awesome bachelor/bachelorette party happening here as well. Did I mention Halloween weekend is still available to book as well? I’d love to spend Halloween in Nashville myself!

On my next post, I will tell you how to eat-shop-walk-Uber-party bus your way through Nashville in five days with six friends. Stay tuned.

Anniversary Getaway: Part 2

July 28, 2020

Nashville has been on our bucket list for a LONG time. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our 15th anniversary than to finally make a visit to Nashville. The Drury Plaza Nashville made our visit so much better!

Before anyone says anything we planned this trip prior to any worldwide pandemic. We definitely have times where we can be jerks I’m not going to deny that, but we are not the kind who put other people in danger. I see conspiracies and the media feeding fear to us and causing stress.

Although we didn’t get to experience Nashville like it usual is we truly did make the best of it and had so much fun exploring Music City!

Drury Plaza Nashville

The Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Downtown is located right in the heart of “Music City.” We had such a relaxing and fun-filled stay.

Drury Nashville

This was our second time staying at the Drury chain of hotels. We stayed in the king room suite which was perfect for us and the view was absolutely amazing! All measures were in place due to Covid-19 for our safety which was extremely comforting.

Drury Nashville

The hotel was just a short walk to Broadway which is so convenient since we flew and didn’t have a car! We did have to Uber to a few spots but usually we walked!

Amenities

A huge indoor/outdoor rooftop swimming pool and a very large hot tub was so nice to relax in after a long day of walking!

Drury Nashville

Now, let’s talk about the biggest perks that my husband and I loved. The Drury hotels are known for their 5:30 kickback which includes 2 alcoholic drinks and dinner! While it was a bit different because of the extra precautions in place, the food was still delicious!

We enjoyed the free breakfast everyday as well, the Drury figured out how to still serve a good hot breakfast and we really appreciated that! This was our breakfast view every morning, pretty dreamy right?

Drury Nashville

Even though we arrived when the City resorted back to Stage 2 Covid-19 measures, we still had a great time. We definitely look forward to coming back to town again! Thanks to Drury for making our trip great!

While I was a bit anxious going into our mini getaway I’m glad we did it. It gave us the change to break the monotony and visit a town we’ve dreamt of visiting forever! Stay tuned for my next blog about some things you must do while in Nashville!

Whether your home or on a getaway just remember to practice social distancing and wash your hands! Have you been on any trips  since March?

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m so happy you are here!

I started Boots Bows and Beaches a few years ago to share our craziness that is being married, working full time and of course being a mom of two teen girls.

Who knew I would learn so much and make such great friends while listening to country music and dealing with teenage hormones.
