Florida Road Trip in the 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback

July 15, 2019

Y’all know we love road trippin’ especially when we get the privilege of driving one of Mazda’s amazing vehicles. This time around on our Florida road trip I had the opportunity to drive the 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback.

Mazda3 Hatchback

I have to admit when I heard the car I was driving was a hatchback I was a bit nervous about how much room we would have. Much to my surprise, the car was actually much roomier than I imagined. It fit our luggage and all the extras my girls “needed” to bring just fine. The 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback offers something that few cars can: a combination of top-of-the-line fuel efficiency and large amounts of cargo space.

Mazda3 Hatchback

In my opinion, this car is definitely not meant to have adults or taller teens in the back seat. There is not much leg room but since my girls are on the “smaller” side they had no issues. They did, however, have some requests that they would like to see in a future Mazda3. We all know tweens are on their phones a lot and they were a little disappointed there wasn’t a USB port in the back. First world problems I know. They also would like to see rear temperature controls. That Florida heat is no joke!

Latest Features

It’s not all about cargo space in this car. With it being a Mazda, it also comes with the latest features and technologies for a more enjoyable driving experience. The 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback offers the available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features for smartphone integration to get your favorite music and apps right in your 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback!

Also, the Mazda3 Hatchback feels more upscale compared to its competitors. Some of my favorite features are the heads-up display, adaptive LED headlights, and adaptive cruise control.

Safety

I am all about safety and the 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback does not lack in that department. The impressive and lengthy list of standard safety features includes knee airbags, a rearview camera, Smart City Brake Support, Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist. High Beam Control, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Driver Attention Alert, an Active Driving Display, dual front airbags, side-impact airbags, side-impact air curtains, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), hill launch assist, dynamic stability control, a traction control system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and many others that will help prevent accidents from happening and protect you if they do!

So, knowing that my 12 year old will soon be looking for a car in a few years the Mazda3 would be a perfect first car. But thankfully I have some time before I have to worry about that!

Fuel-Efficient

There is nothing like taking a long road trip to see how a car really performs. This car was super efficient on gas, having something fuel-efficient was a must on this trip. With 37 highway MPG, the Mazda3 Hatchback was definitely sufficient; as we only had to fill up twice on our entire trip!

The 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback was definitely our friend during our Florida road trip! So thankful to drive a vehicle that keeps us safe and happy on the road! (Despite the USB ports ?)

The Mazda3 Hatchback was provided for my review. As always, all opinions are all my own.

Why the 2019 Mazda CX-5 is the Perfect Road Trip Vehicle

May 6, 2019

When I was planning our Spring Break road trip to Jekyll Island a few weeks ago I knew we needed a vehicle that was big enough for all our luggage and still plenty of room in the backseat. If you have tweens you know that they either love or hate each other and road trips tend to cause them to dislike each other, so plenty of room for them in the backseat was definitely a priority.  I was so excited to find out we were going to be able to drive the 2019 Mazda CX-5 on our trip!

Spring Break-in’ with Mazda CX-5

For a Spring Break road trip with two adults and two kids, we found the CX-5 to be a great family vehicle. The back has plenty of space for our luggage (and the cooler of beer and tons of snacks we had to pack) and anything we bought along the way.

Mazda CX5

As you can see the back seat had plenty of room for the two girls. They had a space for their drinks, USB ports and they even had their own climate controls! They loved it!

Size

If y’all remember, we got to test out the 2019 Mazda CX-9 Signature back in December, and we absolutely fell in love with it. So when I found out we were driving the CX-5 I knew it had to be just as amazing! And it did not disappoint. While the CX-9 is bigger and has 3 rows of seats, the CX-5 is still extremely roomy but with seats for 5, which doesn’t bother me because we are only a family of 4.

Features

We live in the Myrtle Beach where traffic builds up pretty quickly, especially in the tourist season. I could comfortably drive around town in the smooth ride that the Mazda CX-5 provided. They’ve made so much technology to help make the ride smooth and safe. The technology senses you’re steering and adjusts the grip on the round. I also loved the blind spot detection feature that helps you safely change lanes in traffic.

Another favorite feature of mine, especially for a road trip is the display along the right side of the screen. It will show amenities like gas, food, and auto repair that are available at upcoming exits.

Mazda is clearly prioritizing safety and it’s got the luxury features that moms want! I love the joystick technology that they provide. It allows you to switch from navigation to music or a hands-free phone call easily. It made me feel safer, while easily letting me change option on the touch screen.

Take Mazda On The Road

It was so nice to have something sleek, powerful, and good-looking for our road trip to Jekyll Island. If you’re in the market for a compact or crossover SUV, definitely test-drive the Mazda CX-5. For frequent travelers – like us – the CX-5 makes an awesome family road trip car. Where to next?

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m so happy you are here!

I started Boots Bows and Beaches a few years ago to share our craziness that is being married, working full time and of course being a mom of two teen girls.

Who knew I would learn so much and make such great friends while listening to country music and dealing with teenage hormones.
