Southern Charm and Holiday Spirit at The Partridge Inn

December 28, 2018

Christmas is over and 2019 will be here in a few days. We officially kicked off our holiday break last weekend with a trip to Augusta, Georgia to stay at The Partridge Inn. Augusta is widely known for The Masters golf tournament held each April and is also famous for its rich history.

The last week of school before break is what I consider the busiest week of the year. Holiday programs, school parties, holiday theme days, luncheons, shopping for teacher gifts and of course trying to get my own personal shopping finished. To top off all of the craziness, I’m a school bus driver so all off the kids were sugared up and very excited about Santa coming!

But I made it through, barely. Surprisingly, we had a few free days before Christmas.  So, we decided to escape the chaos and enjoy the season while also getting a change of scenery. I know, when are we ever home?

We got an opportunity to visit Augusta, Ga for the very first time. We have never been to Augusta but of course we are always excited to explore a new city. So, we decided to channel our southern charm for the weekend and stayed in what is known as “The Grand Hotel of the Classic South.”

Visit Augusta

The Partridge Inn

While there are many hotel options in Augusta, we stayed at the Partridge Inn, a historic facility situated on the highest point in town. This hotel is beloved by heads of state, business luminaries and celebrities for over a century, The Partridge Inn has undergone an extensive yet careful restoration; allowing guests to not only experience the original 1836 house which remains encompassed within the building, but to also enjoy the comforts and conveniences of a contemporary luxury hotel.

The Partridge Inn is known for its distinctly Southern details, including beautiful verandahs, classic columns, stately magnolia trees and unparalleled personal service. The Partridge Inn is a member of the Historic Hotels of America which we loved, and of course anyway to teach the girls something while on vacation is a win in my book!

The P.I. Bar and Grill

We had the pleasure of dining at The P.I. Bar and Grill on Friday evening when we arrived and it surely did not disappoint. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was great. The bar and grill serves a variety of cuisine to satisfy any palate. And of course, for my picky eater a kids menu is available.

Before we checked out on Sunday we got to enjoy a delicious breakfast back at the bar and grill. You can have your choice of breakfast made to order off the menu or enjoy the breakfast buffet. We chose the breakfast buffet, the girls loved the made to order omelets and waffle bar. Everything was so good.

The Rooftop Penthouse

The penthouse overlooks all of Augusta and has been voted the Best View by readers of Augusta Magazine. When this space is not rented out for parties or special events, the rooftop opens as a pop-up bar with unbelievable views of downtown. Yeah, you read that right. As long as the penthouse is not reserved guests get to hang out in the penthouse and on the roof.

There is no rooftop bar access during Masters week because some golf millionaire flew in and rented it out for the week. But thankfully we didn’t have to worry about that because it wasn’t reserved and we got to experience the gorgeous views and the bar area. It was such a relaxing spot to enjoy cocktails and the view was just amazing. The entire 6th floor has a living room, dining area, kitchen, and three bedrooms.

Rooms

We were pleasantly surprised with the luxurious feel of the rooms, considering the age of the hotel. We loved the two-room suite with extra closet space. The room had two queen beds and a spacious living room area with a sofa bed. Of course it  included complimentary WiFi, a coffeemaker and 52″ Flat Panel HD television with 200 channels in the bedroom and living room!

The Partridge Inn

Toast to 2019 in Luxury

If you are in the Augusta area for New Year’s Eve, The Partridge Inn is celebrating with fine dining, festivities and several overnight packages.

The Partridge Inn’s Penthouse Package includes deluxe overnight accommodations; a gourmet New Year’s Eve Dinner for two; New Year’s Eve Celebration at the hotel’s penthouse overlooking Augusta; breakfast on New Year’s Day at the hotel’s P.I. Bar and Grill; and a bottle of Prosecco. The package is $349 per couple; additional overnight packages are also available.  For more information or reservations, call (706) 737-8888

The hotel’s Penthouse Celebration and Ballroom Celebration are available for partygoers who are not staying at the hotel also.  The Penthouse Celebration begins at 10 p.m., and includes hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and a midnight toast.  Tickets are limited and are $50 per person. Reservations may be made online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/new-years-eve-at-the-top-tickets-5375951515

The Ballroom Celebration also begins at 10 p.m., and includes live music and a midnight toast.  The cost is $25 per person and reservations may be made by calling (706) 737-8888.

The Partridge Inn

There is nothing better than staying at a hotel that’s as wonderful as the trip you’re on. If you’re planning a trip to the Augusta area, I highly recommend The Partridge Inn. It has just the right mix of class and southern charm that is sure to please anyone.

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m so happy you are here!

I started Boots Bows and Beaches a few years ago to share our craziness that is being married, working full time and of course being a mom of two teen girls.

Who knew I would learn so much and make such great friends while listening to country music and dealing with teenage hormones.
