Boots Bows & Beaches

Promise her anything but give her the beach, big bows & nice boots!

Margaritaville Island Hotel | Pigeon Forge Part 1

September 4, 2020

It’s always 5 o’clock in Margaritaville, right?

Jeff and I had a little getaway to Nashville in July to celebrate our anniversary but I wanted to make sure the girls had some fun before the craziness of school begins!

Margaritaville Island Hotel

Margaritaville Island Hotel was the perfect place for our mini-vacay! Last week at our stay we got to experience everything that 5 o’clock has to offer. Yes, that’s right, there is an entire hotel devoted to the popular restaurant and bar known as Margaritaville.

Margaritaville Island Hotel

We live at the beach so as soon as you arrive in the lobby it’s like we never left home, except when you walk outside you see the gorgeous smoky mountains! There are lots of fun beach themed details throughout the exterior and interior of the hotel.

Just beyond the lobby is the Changes in Latitude Bar.  The bar shares a giant see-through fireplace with the lobby and has more seating. There’s also an outdoor patio where you can enjoy your drink as well as a fire pit and cornhole boards!

The Location

The Margaritaville Island Hotel is located on The Island in Pigeon Forge. One of the best parts of our stay was the convenience of being able to walk from the hotel to all The Island had to offer. There are all kinds of shops, attractions, and restaurants. Since the hotel is located right in the middle of the action, everything is virtually at your doorstep. We had a Fountain View room, there is a fountain light show throughout the day and evening with music. We loved sitting out on our balcony and watching it!

The Island is like a piece of the beach nestled right in the mountains. I will tell you more about The Island in my next blog, because it deserves a post of its own!

The Room

Our room described in one word would be amazing. As soon as you walk in we felt like we were home. The headboards have “License To Chill” on them and the entire room is filled with beach decor!

The room is of course equipped with a Margarita Maker, (would you expect anything else,) Keurig Coffee Maker (stocked with coffee for our stay), a fireplace, a safe, a mini-refrigerator for the girls’ snacks, and a microwave! It had everything we needed for our stay. Although some of the normal glassware was replaced with plastic due to COVID it was fine with us! The room was extremely clean, sanitized and we felt very safe!

The bathrooms are gorgeous and so spacious. The shower is literally a dream. It has a bench inside the shower and my favorite thing is that it has two shower heads, one that has water that runs normally at an angle and then another above your head that makes it rain. Clearly, I’m a little obsessed with bathrooms and showers.

Our room was a Fountain View room, we loved the view of The Island, especially in the evenings to watch the fountain light show.

Rooftop Pool and Chill Bar

The rooftop pool was definitely one of our favorite places to relax. Right beside the pool is the Chill Bar, which serves drinks and food. There is plenty of seating as well as tables to enjoy your food. I highly recommend renting a pool cabana for the day!

Margaritaville Island Hotel

There are two different sizes, we had a large cabana. The cooler was stocked with ice and bottled water. The cabanas offer bar service as well so you never have to leave, just put the buoy out and one of the servers come to you! Of course keeping with the theme of the hotel the cabana was decorated in beach decor with a huge clock that was stuck at 5 o’clock. I want one of those for my back porch! We enjoyed lunch at the cabana and took an entire day to relax by the pool.

We watched the sun go down with the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel in the background. It was the perfect day of relaxation by the pool, which is what a vacation is all about!

The Coffee Shop

One of my biggest pet peeves, when I go on vacation, is I can never find a coffee spot close enough to the hotel to walk to. The Margaritaville Coffee Shop is directly connected to the lobby so just a short elevator ride away. I had an iced coffee and an egg & cheese English muffin every morning. The girls loved their muffins and they had Cinnabon cinnamon rolls! This was the perfect start to our mornings and much more convenient than to wait in line at one of the pancake houses in the area!

Margaritaville Island Hotel

Every time we visit Pigeon Forge we always discover so many fun things to do and find so many reasons to want to come back. The Margaritaville Island Hotel is definitely one of our favorite hotels we have stayed at. Traveling during a pandemic isn’t ideal but the hotel was amazing and followed all COVID protocol and took extra precautions to make their guests safe!

More to come in the next few blog posts about the rest of our stay in Pigeon Forge, so stay tuned!

Thank you to Margaritaville Island Hotel for hosting us. As always, all opinions expressed are honest and our own.

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m so happy you are here!

I started Boots Bows and Beaches a few years ago to share our craziness that is being married, working full time and of course being a mom of two teen girls.

Who knew I would learn so much and make such great friends while listening to country music and dealing with teenage hormones.
